Organization Chart (Chain of Command)

The following is the organizational structure and chain of command for the Canton Fire Department The Canton Fire Department is organized into two divisions, each supervised by a Division Chief. The two division chiefs are currently Div. Chief John Whitlatch (Suppression) and Div. Chief Kerry Ball (Staff).  The Division Chiefs report directly to Fire Chief Stephen Rich.

Suppression Division - This division is responsible for the major rescue and firefighting operations of the department. The division is divided into three battalions (shifts), each of which is supervised by a Battalion Chief.

Staff Division - This division is responsible for the training, administrative, and fire prevention functions of the department. The division is divided into four bureaus - fire prevention, operations, EMS, and training. Each bureau is supervised by a Captain.
