HOME Funds
Request for Proposals

The HOME program is the largest Federal block grant to state and local governments designed exclusively to create affordable housing for low-income households. Each year it allocates approximately $2 billion among the States and hundreds of localities nationwide.  The program was designed to reinforce several important values and principles of community development.  The 2018 funding level was $500,000 and we anticipate the 2019 funding to be the same.

All citizens, groups, or organizations who may be interested in submitting proposals for funding should log into the following website: not available beginning Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at midnight. Applications will be accepted online until Thursday, February 28, 2019, at midnight. The City's FY2019 HOME program year will begin April 1, 2019 pending the allocation of federal funds.

Community Development Block Grant
Request for Proposals

The City of Canton Department of Development is accepting applications for the 2019 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).  All citizens, groups, or organizations who may be interested in submitting proposals for funding should log into the following website: not available  beginning Wednesday January 30, 2019 at midnight.  Applications will be accepted until Thursday, February 28, 2019 at midnight.  The City's FY 2019 CDBG program year will begin April 1, 2019 pending the allocation of federal funds.

The City of Canton anticipates receiving approximately $2 million in CDBG funds. The City will utilize a portion of this grant to undertake certain City housing rehabilitation, demolition, public improvements, public services, fair housing, planning, and program administration. At the discretion of the City, the remaining balance of funding may be allocated to various activities designed to address the goals and objectives of the City's CDBG program.

The City of Canton's focus in the RFP will be on proposals that will impact our Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Areas (NRSAs).

Emergency Solutions Grant
Request for Proposals

 

The objective of the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) program is to increase the quality of emergency shelters and transitional housing facilities for homeless individuals and families, to operate these facilities, provide essential social services, and to be used for operations, maintenance costs, supportive services, and staff costs (grants for salaries may not exceed ten (10) percent of the grant awarded to each agency). The 2018 funding level is $213,000 and we anticipate the 2019 funding to be the same. 

All citizens, groups, or organizations who may be interested in submitting proposals for funding should submit applications to the City of Canton Department of Development beginning Monday, December 10, 2018.

- Submission Deadline - Monday, January 21, 2019 - 12:00 Noon

- All RFP applications must be sealed when submitted

- Any application received after this date and time will not be considered for funding
