Natural Gas Aggregation Program

Released/Published: Feb 9, 2016
CANTON, Ohio —

City of Canton officials are pleased to announce that they have chosen Constellation Energy Services (Constellation) as the program’s supplier for another two-year program ending with the April 2018 billing cycle.

City officials would like to remind residents and small businesses to look for a mailer to arrive on or about February 15, 2016 concerning the natural gas aggregation program offer from Constellation. Residents and small businesses currently participating in the city’s natural gas program will receive an opt-out notice informing them of the new rate of $2.89/Mcf for gas consumed April 2016 through March 2017. These customers do not need to do anything to remain in the program and receive the new rate.

Newly eligible account holders who receive their gas supply from Dominion East Ohio will also receive an opt-out notice from Constellation explaining the rate, terms and conditions, and means of opting out of the city’s aggregation program. These accounts will be added to the program unless they opt out as indicated in the letter.

Mayor Thomas Bernabei said, "This will be the lowest rate in the history of Canton’s natural gas program. We are pleased to have been able to secure this low rate for our residents and businesses. This agreement provides price protection for an entire year and gives customers the ability to opt-out free of charge at any time for any reason.”

“Constellation is proud to continue to provide residents and small businesses in the city of Canton with price certainty and the same hassle-free experience we offer all customers,” said Bruce Stewart, chief marketing officer for Constellation. “As a longtime competitive energy supplier in Ohio, we look forward to supplying natural gas to Canton’s residential and small business customers.”

There are several ways new customers can join the city’s program. First, residents and small businesses may call Constellation at 844-467-4303. Second, customers may mail or fax the reply card that comes with the letter sent to their home or business. Customers may also join the program online at

Customers served by another supplier you should be aware of the obligations in their existing contract before joining the city of Canton program, as many suppliers charge a penalty for early termination. Customers wishing to join the program must be in good standing with their bill payment and cannot be part of the utility’s percentage of income payment program (PIPP).

The city of Canton is pleased to make this program possible. However, due to the large volume of calls city officials ask that residents contact Constellation directly regarding questions about the program.

Note: The supply rate from Constellation does not include taxes or utility distribution charges.
