Sledding and Ice Skating

The only city park body of water that allows ice skating is the pond at Monument Park. Park users can identify whether or not the ice is suitable for skating by checking the skate safety light. The light is located near the pond at the intersection of 12th Street NW and Monument Park Drive. If the light is red, then the ice is not safe for skating.  When the red light is off, it is safe to skate on.  If those wishing to ice skate have any questions or concerns, please call the Canton Joint Recreation District or Canton Parks at 330-456-4521

With the snow starting to fall, come out and enjoy sledding in one of your local parks! Sledding hills can be found at:

Fairhope Nature Preserve - 30th Street NE
Harmont - 2701 Harmont Avenue NE
Herbruck - 1900 Royal Ave NE
Roshong - 3400 Harvard Ave NW
Weis - 2600 Harvard NW
Westbrook - 1235 Harrison NW
