Tennis Lessons & Tennis Team
The Canton Parks & Recreation is proud to offer tennis lessons and tennis team for the summer of 2016. Kids can learn or improve upon their current tennis skills and abilities. These lessons are perfect for those with little or no experience in tennis. Please see the age group descriptions below for more details about lessons.
Tennis Lessons are $25.00 for residents and $30.00 for non-residents.

Ages 5 – 6
We will introduce students to the sport of tennis. Students will be introduced to racquet control drills and movement drills. Classes will utilize drills that involve footwork, hand-eye coordination and contact.
Ages 7 – 8
The primary focus is to introduce students to tennis stroke development. Students learn the fundamentals of the forehand, backhand, and volley. Classes will also continue the development of footwork and hand-eye coordination drills.
Ages 9 – 10
The primary focus is to continue tennis stroke development with the purpose of rallying. Students learn the fundamentals of the forehand, backhand, serve, overhead and volley. Classes will also continue the development of footwork and hand-eye coordination drills.
Ages 11 – 14 (only Mondays & Wednesdays)
Beginners will focus on the fundamentals of the forehand, backhand, serve, overhead and volley with a goal of racquet control and rallying.
Intermediate players will continue to improve the fundamental tennis strokes with the intent of eventually playing singles/doubles matches.
Players with more experience looking for match play experience against players from the other local tennis clubs. Players will participate in more advanced drills with the intent of improving tennis skills to apply in match situations. Previous match experience preferred, but not always required.
Tennis Team is $50.00 for residents and $65.00 for non-residents.
