Arbor Day Celebration

Mayor Thomas M. Bernabei, the Canton Parks Commission, and the Canton Tree Commission are excited to announce the 3rd Annual Arbor Day Celebration will be held on April 29, 2016. In concert with the event, the Canton Tree Commission will be sponsoring a photography contest for all members of the public. The theme of the contest is "Trees are Artists Too".
The contest hopes to raise awareness of the city's trees and their beauty in all seasons. Participants are encouraged to explore the artistry of city trees in Canton and submit their photography entries to the Tree Commission. Entries will be exhibited and judged during the Arbor Day Celebration on April 29, 2016. Winning entries and honorable mentions will be featured during the May 2016 First Friday event at the Joseph Saxton Gallery of Photography in Downtown Canton.
Entry details and a submission form are attached to this release. Entries must be received by mail or dropped off to the City of Canton Engineering Department, located at 2436 30th Street NE; Canton, OH 44705 no later than 4:00 PM on Thursday, March 31, 2016.
Residents are encouraged to start taking photos now!
