CDBG Announcements
The Department of Community Development, on behalf of the City of Canton, is requesting proposals for the 2024 HOME grant program (HOME), 2024 Community Development Block Grant program (CDBG), 2024 Emergency Solutions Grant program (ESG), and for the HOME-ARP Grant program.
Timeline:
Application Period Opens – Wednesday, November 1, 2023
HOME and HOME ARP email letter of intent by: Wednesday, November 15, 2023
CDBG, HOME and HOME-ARP workshop: Wednesday, November 15, 2023
ESG workshop: Thursday, November 16, 2023
Application Period Ends – Thursday, November 30, 2023
Program Year begins - July 1, 2024 pending the allocation of federal funds.
How to apply:
- HOME applications will be available online at HOME | Canton, OH (cantonohio.gov). Email a letter of intent to communitydevelopment@cantonohio.gov . A reply email will be sent with instructions on uploading the application and required documents. The email of intent to apply for HOME funding must be submitted prior to the deadline of November 15, 2023
- HOME ARP applications will be available online at HOME-ARP | Canton, OH (cantonohio.gov). Email a letter of intent to apply to communitydevelopment@cantonohio.gov . A reply email will be sent with instructions on uploading the application and required documents. The email of intent to apply for HOME ARP funding must be submitted prior to the deadline of November 15, 2023.
- CDBG Applications will only be accepted online through ZoomGrants. All required documents must be uploaded into ZoomGrants by the submission deadline of November 30, 2023. For more information visit our website at CDBG | Canton, OH (cantonohio.gov)

City of Canton will provide a virtual CDBG, HOME and HOME-ARP Application workshop on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 10:00 am. Applicants will receive bonus points for attending the training.
- ESG applications are available online at www.starkcountyhomeless.org. Submit your completed application to mbragg@starkhousingnetwork.org . All applications must be submitted prior to the deadline of November 30, 2023.
Stark Housing Network, Inc. will provide a virtual ESG Application Workshop on Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 9:00am -10:00am. Log into the following website:
The City of Canton reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any informalities or irregularities in applications/proposals received. The City of Canton reserves the right to accept applications through out the 2024 Action Plan year.
