Purchasing / Procurement

The Purchasing Department of the City of Canton oversees nearly all procurement duties for the administrative departments of the City government.

Overview & Vendor Registration

The items purchased by all City departments are numerous and change frequently. The City of Canton is required to advertise, receive bids, and enter into a contract for any good or service that exceeds $50,000.

Additionally, the Purchasing Department oversees a wide variety of proposals and quote requests. If you would like to receive notification regarding Purchasing Department solicitations, please register as a vendor. Additionally, the City of Canton also advertises all formal solicitations.

All professional or personal service contracts entered into by any official on behalf of the City shall first be approved and authorized by Council where the contract exceeds twenty-five thousand dollars.

Bids and RFP's for the City's Community Development Lead Safe Canton Program funded by HUD are available through this link.
