Welcome to the online home of the Street Department of the City of Canton, Ohio. The objective of the City of Canton's Street Department is to provide roadway safety and to maintain the city streets to the best of our ability.
What the Department Does
The Street Department performs the following on a yearly basis:
Mowing of right-of-way
Paving repairs (mill and fill)
Pothole repairs
Road base repairs
Road berming
Roadside ditches and swales
Snow and ice control
Street sweeping
Non-Street Work
The Street Department also performs the following non-street work as well:
Assist in Beautify A Neighborhood (BAN)
Cleanup of the Hall of Fame Parade
Assist with downtown events: set-up, cleanup, barricades as requested
Locate and erect the City Christmas tree in the Market Street South Plaza
