Public Auctions of Surplus and Impound

LEGAL NOTICE

The City of Canton Director of Public Service is authorized to sell city owned personal property which is not needed for public use, or is obsolete or unfit for the use for which it was acquired, by internet auction pursuant to ORC 721.15(D). The auctions shall be conducted on a continuous basis through accessing the City of Canton’s surplus property through the City’s web site located at CantonOhio.gov. The surplus items shall be posted for not less than 10 days including Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays.

The City will post a notice of such Internet auction on the bulletin board on the second floor of City Hall on a continuous basis. A notice will appear continuously on the City’s web site that surplus property is available through Internet auction.

All property is offered for sale “As Is, Where Is”. The City of Canton makes no warranty, guaranty or representation of any kind, expressed or implied, as to the merchantability or fitness for any purpose of the property offered for sale. The Buyer is not entitled to any payment for loss of profit or any other money damages – special, direct, indirect or consequential, and The Board of Control reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to accept the bid(s) deemed most beneficial to the City of Canton.
