Engineering (Paving Program)

2021 City Paving Program

  • This project involves milling and resurfacing numerous streets located throughout the City.   Work began in April and is expected to finish by the end of September. The cost of this work is $2,850,000 and is paid for by City of Canton funds. Please utilize the following link to view an updated version of this year’s paving list ~ City Paving Program 2021 *This list is subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.

3rd St SE Resurfacing 

  • This project involves milling and resurfacing 3rd St. SE from Cherry Ave SE to E. Tuscarawas Avenue. The work is scheduled for this summer. The cost of this work is estimated to be $640,000 and will be paid for by State, County, and City funds.

2021 Crack Seal Program

  • This project involves applying crack sealer to numerous streets located throughout the City.   The goal is to prevent water from infiltrating into the pavement. The project is scheduled for this summer and fall.   The cost of this work is estimated to be $100,000 and will be paid for by City of Canton funds

2021 Chip Seal Project

  • This project involves several streets located throughout the City.  A Chip Seal will applied followed by a Fog Seal.  Work is expected to take place during July and August.   The cost is estimated to be $100,000 will be paid for with City funds.

2021 Microsurfacing

  • This project involves placing a thin layer of asphalt on existing pavement.  Streets to be microsurfaced this year are 55th St NE from Market Ave N. to Lindford Ave NE and Sherrick Rd SE from Cherry Ave SE to Warner Rd SE. Work is expected to take place in August and September. The cost is about $115,000 and will be paid for by City of Canton funds..
