Major Road Reconstruction Projects

13th St NW Reconstruction Project 

  • This project involves 13th St NW from Broad Ave. to I-77 and includes full depth pavement replacement, new sanitary sewer, and installation of Streetscape elements on the south side of the street.  Work began last fall.  After a winter shutdown period, work is expected to begin this year in April and is scheduled for completion by the end of May.  The cost of this work is $1,250,000 and will is being paid for by City and Federal funds.

Timken Steel Dr/Clark Dr. Realignment 

  • This project involves realigning Timken Steel Dr. so that it goes around instead of through the Timken Steel facilities.  Work is scheduled for September and October of this year.  The estimated cost of this project is $900,000 and will be funded by City, State, and Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad funds.


Flooding Control Projects

36th St NW Storm Sewer, Street, and Water Improvements, Phase 1 

  • This project will address longstanding drainage and flooding issues on 36th St. NW from Logan Ave. NW to Market St. N.  A large storm sewer will be installed followed by new waterline, pavement, curb, and sidewalk.  Work began in fall 2020 and is scheduled to be complete by June 2021.   The cost is $1,690,000 and is being paid for by City funds and State funds.

36th St NW Storm Sewer, Street, and Water Improvements, Phase 2

  • This project will address longstanding drainage and flooding issues on 36th St. NW from Frazer Ave. NW to Logan Ave NW.  A large storm sewer will be installed followed by new waterline, pavement, curb, and sidewalk.  Work is scheduled for August 2021 through May 2022.  The cost is $2,860,000 and is being paid for by City funds and State funds.

39th St NW Project 

  • This project will address longstanding drainage and flooding issues on 39th St. NW from Cleveland Ave. NW to Norman Ave. NW.  A storm sewer system will be installed followed by new pavement.  Work is scheduled to take place from July 2021 through May 2022.  The cost is $3,280,000 and is being paid for by City funds and State funds.

Eastpointe Circle NE

  • This project will address flooding issues on Eastpointe Blvd NE, from Stoneridge Dr. NE to Plain Center Ave. NE.  A new storm sewer will be added and the concrete street will be reconstructed.  The work is anticipated to take place this summer.  The cost is estimated to be $200,000 and will be paid for using City funds.
