The City of Canton will hold a Public Hearing on its FY2022 & FY2023 Amended Annual Action Plan on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 10:00 A.M, in the City of Canton 6th Floor Conference Room, 218 Cleveland Ave SW, Canton, OH 44702. The purpose of this hearing will be to obtain citizen input and comments on the City’s FY2022 Amended Annual Action Plan.
Canton FY2022 Amended Annual Action Plan
The City of Canton is proposing the following amended budget for the HOME portion of its FY2022 Annual Action Plan:
McKinley Square, New Construction Rental reduced by $2,100,000.00
Newton Family Homes, New Construction Rental addition $2,100,000.00
Total amount (reductions and additions) equal to $2,100,000.00
Canton FY 2023 Amended Annual Action Plan
The City of Canton is proposing the following amended budget for the CDBG portion of its FY2023 Annual Action Plan:
ABCD, Acquisition reduced by $100,000.00
ABCD, New Construction and/or demolition addition $100,000.00
Total amount (reductions and additions) equal to $100,000.00
The City of Canton is proposing the following amended budget for the ESG portion of its FY2023 Annual Action Plan:
ICAN, Homeless Prevention reduced by $108,168.50
Domestic Violence, Emergency Shelter addition $108,168.50
Total amount (reductions and additions) equal to $108,168.50
Citizen Comment Period
The City of Canton's FY2022 & FY2023 Amended Annual Action Plan will be available for public review on the City’s website beginning November 20, 2023 at the following URL: www.cantonohio.gov/676/Citizen-Input
The public comment period is open from November 20, 2023 to December 19, 2023. Interested parties may submit written comments and questions via email to firstname.lastname@example.org any time during the public comment period. Please email comments and submit by 11:59 p.m. on December 19, 2023.
The purpose of the public comment period is to receive input regarding the above-mentioned plan that outlines recommended programs.
All citizens, particularly low-and-moderate income residents of slum and blighted areas, are encouraged to submit their views and proposals regarding community development and housing needs.
The City of Canton will make reasonable accommodations and services necessary for sensory-impaired and disabled citizens at the public meeting. Additionally, translation services may be offered upon request and availability. Persons requiring such accommodations/services should contact the City at least five working days in advance of the meeting.
