This is in response to public health concerns about the coronavirus (COVID-19) and the need to restrict the potential of spread of the disease by minimizing public gatherings, meetings and contacts. We emphasize that while COVID-19 is a serious public health concern, there is no cause for panic.
There is no suspension of any City services or closure of City offices, nor is any contemplated. This would be done only in extreme circumstances. But in the interests in restricting non-essential contacts, effective Monday, March 16, 2020, the City of Canton is temporarily suspending public access to non-essential public facing offices/departments.
We ask that residents and constituents conduct business via phone, email, standard mail, or drop box where appropriate. If you have a question about a specific office or issue, please contact that office by phone or email for instructions prior to making an in-person visit.
